Walgreen's Ready Response Review

Review Summary: Walgreen's Ready Response is middle of the road when you compare them to other service providers. There are providers that offer less for more money, and more for less money. Their services are actually provided by a third party as they simply act as resellers.
Pros: No long-term contracts, automatic monthly tests of the console to the central monitoring station, low battery signal sent for button.
Cons: Walgreen's is a reseller of the service, there's an activation fee, could take 10 days to receive the system, no other discounts available.

Likes:
Flexible Monitoring Agreement - You can cancel at anytime with 30 days notice.
Automatic Monthly Tests – System's console will automatically test monthly to the monitoring station. Some companies offer the preferred weekly test, but others offer no automatic testing at all. The wrist, pendant, or belt-clip button will also send a signal when its battery is low.
24-Hour Support – Walgreen's Ready Response has support available 24 hours per day.
Dislikes:
Walgreen's is a Reseller– Walgreen's is not in the business of monitoring medical alert systems. They are simply resellers of American Medical Alert Corporation's services.
Cancel at Any Time Policy – If you are not happy with your system or service, you will have some out of pocket expenses for set-up fees and your first month of service. Having to commit to only 1-month of service is very reasonable though.
No Activity Monitoring – Activity monitoring typically requires the user to check in with the system by pressing a button once every 24 hours. This is very beneficial as it allows you to know that your loved one is active and about each day.
No Discounts For Advanced Payments – Monthly payments are your only option. The convenience of quarterly or annual payments can be desirable, especially if you can receive a discount.
No Fall Detector Option – Since diabetics can have the tendency to faint, fall detectors can be helpful because the user would be unable to press their medical emergency button.
Bottom Line:
Although Walgreen's Ready Response is not actually monitored by Walgreen's, you get some assurance that you will get good service with their name behind the service. Their website is fairly informative and when we called their customer service with additional questions, the representative was friendly, knowledgeable, and patient. Walgreen's Ready Response is middle of the road when you compare them to other service providers. There are providers that offer less for more money, and more for less money.
Although our experience with this company had these results, your experience may be different. If you're interested in this company's services, contact them to judge for yourself.
